Topics: Your feed is matched to the actual content of the videos you watch — titles and descriptions are read into a topic profile that ranks similar content higher
Watch time: Videos people watch longest earn higher rankings, so the algorithm promotes titles, not just clicks
Community: Collaborative filtering — videos enjoyed by users similar to you are surfaced too
Search: Filters the feed by title/name matching your query

Planets are group chats. Anyone can start one, anyone can join, and everyone in it can talk.
Galaxies are community spaces with their own members and posts. Public by default; the owner can make one invite-only.
Group videos you like into a playlist. A playlist can hold videos uploaded by anyone, not just your own.
Muting someone hides their videos and/or stops their messages reaching you. It works both ways, so they are hidden from you and you are hidden from them. Only you can lift a block you created.
A block always covers at least one of videos or messages. If you unblock someone who blocked you first, their block stays until they lift it.
